About Us

Meet the Leadership

The Ghana Burns Survivors Foundation (GBSF) was born from lived experience.

Dennis Opoku Gyamfi, founder of GBSF, is himself a burn survivor. As a child, he suffered severe burns after falling into boiling water. The physical injuries, however, were only part of the journey. He also faced stigma, isolation, and emotional challenges growing up. But rather than allowing this experience to define him, Dennis turned it into purpose.

On 23rd June 2009, together with Rev. Fr. Ken Goode, he established the foundation to support other survivors across Ghana.

What began with a small meeting in Kumasi has grown into a national effort to advocate for burn survivors and improve access to care and social acceptance.

Today, GBSF continues to work toward helping survivors achieve their full potential.
