Supporting burn survivors in Ghana with care, advocacy, and long-term recovery

The Ghana Burns Foundation exists to support burn survivors and their families through awareness, recovery support, advocacy, and compassionate community care.

Our Mission

Assist burns survivors through free plastic surgery, advocacy, education, awareness raising and social acceptance

We work to raise awareness, mobilize support, advocate for better care, and help connect survivors and families to the compassion and resources they need.

Our vision is to create a society where all burns survivors enjoy their natural right and fully participate in society.

What We Do

How the foundation creates impact

Our work combines awareness, survivor-centered support, and advocacy so that families are not left to navigate burn recovery alone.

Medical Support

Helping survivors access free plastic surgery, practical support, recovery pathways, and encouragement during a difficult journey.

Awareness & Prevention

Educating communities about burn risks, safer practices, early response, and the importance of timely care.

Advocacy & Partnership

Working with hospitals, supporters, volunteers, and partners to improve awareness, recovery support, and public compassion.

The Challenges

The issues we are working to address

Behind every burn injury is a person, a family, and a future that can be deeply affected by pain, cost, trauma, stigma, and limited support systems.

Limited long-term support

Recovery can continue long after emergency treatment, yet many survivors still need ongoing practical and emotional support.

Financial pressure on families

Burn injuries can place major strain on household finances, especially where treatment and recovery become prolonged.

Trauma and social stigma

Beyond physical recovery, survivors may face emotional trauma, isolation, and stigma that affect confidence and reintegration.

Low public awareness

More awareness is needed around prevention, first response, and the long-term realities faced by survivors and caregivers.

Survivor resources
